We all need to stay home to stay safe, but bookstores and authors are suffering as a result. Here are some fantastic novels that were recently released, or will launch in the next few months, which you might not have heard about. Please take a look and support authors and local bookstores. This pandemic has turned life around for so many of us--especially many of the working moms whom I know. We are suddenly working, homeschooling our kids for two to eight hours-a-day, cooking, cleaning, and trying to keep everyone (including ourselves) upbeat.
Personally, juggling writing and helping my older daughter navigate six to eight hours of homeschool while keeping my younger one focused on her assignments has been difficult. I talked a little about the struggle on Good Morning America. You can check it out here: https://www.goodmorningamerica.com/wellness/video/things-mindfulness-69724776
The folks at ManyBooks.net interviewed me today about my process, my latest book, what I've got coming out next, and what I am working on now. You can check it out here: https://manybooks.net/featured-authors/cate-holahan-agatha-christie-style-domestic-suspense
I am pleased to announce the debut of Dirty Boulevard, an anthology of short crime fiction inspired by the music of Lou Reed. My story is a riff off of this song, Pale Blue Eyes, which I cover below. I'm proud to be included in the collection, edited by David James Keaton and Jon Ashley, who died tragically before the book was published. All the writers donated their stories to support suicide prevention services.
Have a book club? I love chatting with folks about my books, the writing process or anything else mystery and thriller related. If you have a book club, let me know. I would love to join for an evening and talk about Lies She Told (Named to Kirkus' Best Books of 2017) or The Widower's Wife (named to Kirkus' Best Books of 2016).
I can join via skype or in person, depending on location.
