Word of the Day: Tabernacle

Growing up Catholic, I knew tabernacle to mean the gilded box where the priest put the communion wafers--back when we did things like congregate and drink from the same chalice. Not since Covid. I learned a new meaning from Allen Eskens's beautiful book The Life We Bury. Check it out.
